History of the Old Jefferson Congregation
Origins
1904 - Mrs. Robert Sydney Waller Sr. was the only known Member in the area.
1906 - Bro. Boles preached the first known sermon in the area. Mrs. Darlene Wade and Mrs. Lucy Wade were baptized and the Church which is now known as Old Jefferson developed.
1914 - E.I. Cameron conducted a gospel meeting on the Swain's lot in Jefferson Springs.
1915 - Gospel meeting at Jefferson Village. The primary families at this time were the Wallers, Wades, Lenoirs(Mrs. Brutus Lenoir), and the Swains. The Church building was built with $1,000, donated land material, and labor. Preaching was done once a month by Bro. Cameron.
1949 - Seats were installed in the building
1953 - Building was moved back and heated with gas.
1954 - Three classrooms built.
1958 - Elders and Deacons were selected.
1959 - Building was re-modeled.
1960 - Two classrooms were built.

1967 - Land acquired for areas around Percy Priest Lake. Present building was constructed.
1973 - Preacher's house next to Church building was built.
1977 - Church annex was built.
1985 - Two lots behind building were purchased for as neighborhood behind building was being developed.
1992 - Began planning and setting aside a building fund for building expansion.
2003 - Fellowship hall built
